Over Christmas I received the
You Beauty Advent Calender (which is still available for sale
here) which is packed full of amazing mini and sample sized products - absolutely perfect for me as I can try them out without having to commit to the full, usually pretty expensive, prices! I'm working my way through it pretty slowly as I want to make the most of it, which is good news here as it means I will have plenty of new products to talk about for a while to come! Here are three I've been using recently;
 |
L-R: Philosophy The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash, ESPA Lift & Firm moisturiser and eye serum, Richard Ward Volumiser Root Booster.

I absolutely love this product - it's a simple face wash that unlike many exfoliating products is light enough to use everyday. The beads are tiny and so when using it has a consistency almost like sand which makes it really effective for exfoliating. It left my skin feeling SO GOOD, I couldn't stop touching my face in amazement. You really don't need to use much so I can see it lasting a while, but I already desperately want the full sized version!

These ESPA products are actually aimed at older and aging skin, so maybe in my early 20s I'm not particularly their target market; but hey, freebies! They come in really beautiful packaging - I'm a total sucker for nicely packaged products and you can really tell these are expensive before you even use them, just because the packaging looks and feels such nice quality! After using the moisturiser my skin felt plumped instantly, however I think it may be a little heavy for me personally as when touching my skin later on in the evening I could still feel some residue. I think maybe I need to try using less, and using straight before bed so it has plenty of time to sink in. The eye serum however I absolutely loved! Whilst it may be aimed at older skin, I think it's never too early to start taking care of problem areas and this serum had an instant tightening effect around my eyes. Despite only having the smaller sample size, I used just a tiny amount and think it will last quite a while.

This is without a doubt my favourite product out of all I've tried from the box so far and has quickly become a staple for me. I have fine hair that, especially straight after washing, can become flyaway and almost feels TOO clean to hold a style. This product gives the hair a matte effect without making it look dirty - it leaves pretty much no residue and is great for making hair appear thicker and for helping hold a style whilst still looking clean and shiny. It also contains heat and UV protection so is like multiple products in one - perfect!

I would definitely recommend the beauty box to anyone who enjoys products like these - it's packed full of amazing things and at the current price you save heaps compared to what you'd spend on the products individually. I'm already excited to look for something similar in the lead up to next Christmas!
A beauty advent calendar is such a good idea!I love samples haha should've thought of getting this earlier :)

It's brilliant, I regret not getting it early as a calendar and having the excitement of opening a surprise product each day! But it was also amazing getting it at Christmas and being able to look at everything at once. :) I would 100% recommend it!
