Home sweet home.

I decided yesterday to come home for a couple of days - I absolutely adore living in the city and having so much available on my doorstep, but sometimes when I'm stressed it's great to be able to come back to my quiet hometown to chill out. Most of my friends, like myself, have moved away, but I'm pretty close with my family so enjoy just coming back to see them. I got the train back which takes around four hours, so treated myself to the latest Vogue to keep myself occupied - I just received Vogue: An Illustrated History (which I will probably post about soon!) and have so far only managed a quick flick though and looked at pictures of the old editions, and it's so interesting looking at a recent Vogue and seeing just how much it has changed.

Pretty cool article on Bowie.

My mum is taking about us all going away on a family holiday in summer which has inspired us both to eat a bit healthier, so last night we had this salad which consisted of basil, mozzarella, tomatoes, cucumber, celery, black olives and a whole lot of spinach. It was lovely!

I guess this probably doesn't look that appetising, but this was the homemade dressing we had. It is chopped basil mixed with lemon, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and was divine.

My favourite - margarita! We chilled out last night with drinks and watched far too many musicals. I think I eventually fell asleep on the sofa at some point through Grease! It was a lovely relaxing night and just what I needed. I'm having to catch the train back tomorrow due to work at 3pm which is far too soon for my liking - I think I could happily stay here for weeks.

  1. I know exactly what you mean! I live in a different city now because of school, but I love going back home when I'm stressed out or I just need to be away from school for a little bit :)
